Description Splashstar gets her name because of the pale orange that is splashed into her fur. She is a petite she cat with a thick coat that is mostly white, with the occasional orange stripes. She is small, but she enjoys being small because this makes her fast. She has light green eyes and carries herself very proudly.
Personality Splashstar is a young leader, and as such she is often insecure. She does not like to show her insecurities before her Clan, so she keeps them bottled up inside her. This in turn can lead to rash actions and impulsiveness that she sometimes regrets. Her mentor Ivystar always had such high hopes and saw so much in Splashstar that Splashstar often worries that she is not living up to everyones expectations of her, especially Ivystar even though the former NorthClan leader has joined the ranks of StarClan.
Despite this potential flaw, Splashstar has the best for her Clan at heart. She became leader of NorthClan at an unusually young age, but she was mentored by the former leader Ivystar so she knows a lot about the inner workings of her Clan and NorthClan's relationship with the other Clans.
She has a deep fondness for kits and desperately wants kits of her own, but she is scared that if she became a mother it would weaken her abilities as a leader, so she is not looking for a mate in particular.
Overall, Splashstar has a sweet disposition. She has a reputation of being a good confidant within her Clan, and she has already begun to develop the reputation of being a shrewd leader within the other Clans. She is making sure that everyone knows she is here to stay.
History Splashstar is an NorthClan born cat to similarly white parents: Icepelt and Snowfur. She was the only kit in her litter and the only kit ever born to both of her parents. Icepelt was an aging queen, unusually old to be having a first litter, and Snowfur was similarly older. Splashkitkit was a small kit which she initially disliked, but then she realized it made her a faster hunter and even before she was apprenticed she began honing this skill.
It was this skill that made Ivystar take an interest in the young Splashkit. Ivystar had not taken an apprentice in many moons and her last apprentice had not lived to become a warrior. Splashkit's speed so impressed Ivystar that at Splashkit's sixth moon, Ivystar announced to the Clan that he would mentor her.
Meanwhile, Splashpaw parents moved into the Elder's Den. Although Splashpaw was very devoted to her parents, she had this nagging annoyance in the back of her mind that her parents were so old they could not really go out hunting or exploring with her like other apprentices parents.
Splashpaw became Splashstorm at eleven moons old. Then when she was sixteen moons old, Liongaze (the deputy) died at a Twoleg Thunderpath. Ivystar, still seeing a lot of potential in Splashstorm, named her deputy. This made her one of the youngest appointed deputies in the history of NorthClan.
Splashstorm proved to be a good deputy. Her father succumbed to a stomach illness when Splashstorm was twenty moons old, and her mother, unable to live without her mate, joined him soon after in StarClan.
Then when Splashstorm was thirty moons old, the unthinkable happened: Ivystar lost his last life in a border skirmish with a WestClan cat. Splashstorm kept vigil for her fallen leader and mentor, then did what to her seemed to be the unthinkable: she received her nine lives from StarClan and became Splashstar. And for five moons now she has been NorthClan's leader.
IC Icepelt, alerted by the noise, came out of the HighDen to find her fellow SunCats returned from the raid. Her gaze settled on two tiny kits looking around their new Clanmates with wide, open eyes and her heart melted for these two who would never know their parents, never know their own Clan. Well, that wasn't such a bad thing, was it? Icepelt herself remembered not so long ago, when a young apprentice named Splitpaw had been brought to SummerClan...
"They told me my name is Halfpaw now. I'm no longer Splitpaw." The new apprentice mewed.
Icepaw smiled. "Halfpaw. I like it. It suits you." Slystar had decreed the meeting over, and she turned. "Come on, I'll show you the apprentice's den. I can't wait for you to meet everybody...Foxpaw...Duskpaw...Wildpaw...oh, you're going to love it in SummerClan, you just watch!"
Icepaw hoped with all of her heart the new apprentice would love it in SummerClan. She was already extremely fond of him, and if he chose to return to WinterClan, she would miss him terribly...
Icepelt shook herself back into the present. Would there be cats to welcome these kits into the Clan like Halfstar was welcomed? Her eyes automatically sought out Halfstar, and for the first time, she shivered when she looked at him. There was a hard, almost cruel glint in his eye that had never been there before. Was he too finally feeling the wrongness of a kit raid? Or was something else wrong? Icepelt wished she knew, she wished down to the bottom of her heart that she could somehow comfort him, but unless Halfstar came to her first, she knew there was no way he would confess what was wrong.
